This Privacy Policy applies to two apps made by Crescent Harbor LLC ("we", "us", "our"), a limited liability company registered in Pennsylvania, United States, operating under the DogearHQ brand. DögEar is a location-based community feed of short videos organized by city; it uses an account, servers, and location to work. AppBlockr is a standalone app blocker that works entirely on your device: it does not use accounts, servers, email, location, videos, profile photos, or push notifications. Throughout this policy we mark which app each item applies to. Sections about accounts, servers, location, videos, profile photos, and push notifications apply to DögEar only. Sections about on-device app blocking apply to AppBlockr only. The advertising section applies to both.
Account information, profile photos, posted video references, votes, and reports are stored on our servers and cloud storage to provide DögEar's service. Profile photos are automatically screened for inappropriate content before being made available. Your precise location never leaves your device; only a city-level label is sent to us. This all applies to DögEar only. AppBlockr does not use accounts, servers, or cloud storage. Its screen-time and app-selection data used for blocking remain on your device, and nothing it processes leaves your device except the advertising identifiers shared with our ad provider when an ad is shown (see Section 4).
DögEar and AppBlockr both show ads through Unity Ads (Unity Technologies). When an ad is shown, Unity may collect device and advertising identifiers to deliver and measure ads. On Apple devices we ask for your permission through the App Tracking Transparency prompt before any tracking for advertising takes place; if you decline, you will still see ads, but they will be less personalized. Unity's practices are described at unity.com/legal/privacy-policy. You can also limit ad tracking under iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites for our own purposes, and we do not sell personal data.
DögEar uses YouTube API Services to help you discover popular public videos on YouTube. Specifically, DögEar uses the YouTube Data API to identify currently popular public videos and to retrieve basic display information about them, such as the video title, thumbnail, and video ID, which are shown in the app's feeds. YouTube videos are played through YouTube's official embedded player, and each video links back to its original page on YouTube. DögEar does not download, store, rehost, or modify YouTube video files; the videos remain hosted on and streamed from YouTube.
By using DögEar, you are also agreeing to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Your use of information retrieved through YouTube API Services is subject to the Google Privacy Policy. You can manage or revoke DögEar's access to your data, and review the permissions you have granted to third-party applications including DögEar, through the Google security settings page. Any basic YouTube video information that DögEar stores for display is refreshed regularly and removed when it is no longer used in the feed.
Because DögEar shows content that people post, we operate moderation tools. Any user can report content, we can remove reported or prohibited content across all feeds where it appears, and we can block a device from posting if it violates our rules. Profile photos are screened by automated image moderation before use. Our content rules are described in our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
You can disable location access in your device settings and choose your city manually in the app. You can decline ad tracking through the App Tracking Transparency prompt or your device settings. You can delete your DögEar account and associated personal data from within the app, which removes your account information, posted references, profile photo, votes, and reports from our servers. You can review and revoke DögEar's access to your Google or YouTube data at any time through the Google security settings page. Depending on where you live, including in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and California, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any right, contact us at the address below. We do not sell your personal information.
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the service and for legitimate legal, security, and dispute-resolution purposes. You can delete your DögEar account and its associated personal data at any time from within the app, which removes your account information, posted video references, profile photo, votes, and reports from our servers. Basic YouTube video information retrieved through YouTube API Services and stored for display in the feed is refreshed regularly and deleted when it is no longer shown. AppBlockr does not collect or retain any personal information on our side; deleting the app removes its on-device data.
DögEar is intended for users 17 and older and is not directed to children. Neither DögEar nor AppBlockr knowingly collects personal information from children under the age required by local law. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
